|The Assessors are Making their Rounds|
Every year about this time the Hawley Assessors make their rounds to approximately one third of the Hawley households. The purpose of these inspection visits is to verify information in their Assessment database and account for any changes in land use, structures and their condition.
Those visits may result in valuation increases in the case of new structures or renovations, or decreases when structures are reduced in size, damaged or removed. Either way, they are a key facet of the Assessors' obligation to the Town, its property owners, and the Commonwealth, and are an essential part of their work.
If you have comments or questions for the Hawley Board of Assessors, call 413-339-5518 and ask for Virginia Gabert or send an email HERE.
