Ad Hoc Group Members Sought . . .

SUSTAINABLE ENERGY ADVISORY COMMITTEE FORMED — In the 1990s, Hawley had a committee whose charge was to address sustainable-energyenergy shortages.   Every town had an energy committee.   In time, this committee merged with the Conservation Commission and  eventually, energy slipped off the radar as a major public issue and the committee lost its relevance.
Climate change and  the present interest in establishing Green Communities across Massachusetts  has revived the desire to offer information and help with citizen research; thus the Selectboard created the Sustainable Energy Advisory Committee at their June 14th meeting.
The Board is looking for several interested Hawley citizens to be on this new committee.   If this describes you, contact Cass Nowacki at the Town Office or info@townofhawley.com.
