Opportunity for the Specially Challenged . . .

IF YOU ARE LIVING WITH A DISABILITY IN HAWLEY, and have wheelchair-rampedreason to travel back and forth to Greenfield and vicinity from time to time, then the FRTA has an opportunity you might find interesting. FRTA is the Franklin Regional Transit Authority, a state-supported public transportation agency that runs regular bus/van routes fanning out from the Olver Transport Center in Greenfield to:

Amherst GCC
Charlemont Montague
Corporate Center Northampton
Greenfield Proper Orange

All fixed-route FRTA buses and vans are disability-equipped, and their drivers are specially-trained, to make sure that all bus stops are made, and all points of ingress and egress are managed, with safety, comfort and courtesy.

FRTA is currently searching for someone with a disability from Hawley who could join their Board of Advisors. The purpose? To provide the feedback that will help FRTA’s services improve.

If you are interested and qualified, please contact Cass Nawrocki at the Hawley Town Office via email at info@townofhawley.com, or call her during Town Office Hours at 413-339-5518.
